FHSAA, PlayOn! Sports Create FHSAA Network

The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and PlayOn! Sports (PlayOn) have launched the FHSAA Network, a partnership providing multi-platform distribution of Florida high school sports content. Unprecedented postseason coverage of all Florida high school sports, beginning in fall 2011, will be made available to fans in a variety of live and on-demand formats on the web and via mobile devices.

“The FHSAA is pleased to have a partner like PlayOn! Sports to enhance coverage of high school sports and athletes in Florida,” said FHSAA Executive Director, Roger Dearing. “Communities will now have greater access to the excitement and excellence of Florida high school sports while also providing our student athletes and their families a unique way to recall these memorable performances.”

The new Internet video portal for the FHSAA Network, www.FHSAAsports.com, will host all events produced through the partnership. Many events will be streamed live, and all events will be archived and made available on demand. There will be no charge for fans to view content.

“We are thrilled to partner with the FHSAA to create an online and mobile network of high school sports content in Florida,” said David Rudolph, CEO of PlayON! Sports. “We are building a library of content that will allow students, families, and communities to have access to their school’s sports and activities programs in a way they haven’t had before.”

The FHSAA Network will commence this fall with coverage of the state championships in boys and girls swimming and diving, girls’ volleyball, and football. Additional coverage throughout the year will feature a wide range of both boys and girls sports in Florida.

Another component of the FHSAA Network is the opportunity for member schools to utilize PlayOn’s proprietary software for coverage of their regular season sports and school activities. This content will be featured on the FHSAAsports.com portal. Schools will be able to create links on their websites to directly access their branded school page on the FHSAA video portal.

“Schools can leverage the PlayOn platform to create content, provide educational opportunities for students, generate exposure for student-athletes, and provide unique digital advertising opportunities for sponsors,” Rudolph said. “We are rolling this program out immediately and plan to have an initial group of schools producing and broadcasting their activities during this fall sports season.”
