Signiant Demonstrates Media Exchange Solution at Akamai Edge 2011

Signiant’s Media Exchange (MX) solution is on display at the Akamai Edge 2011 customer conference, currently taking place in Boston. Signiant MX is a Web browser-based application that enables media organizations to securely send and receive high-value content across wide area networks.

“For the third year, it’s our pleasure to participate in the Akamai Edge conference and show attendees how our partnership with Akamai can deliver a more efficient, secure, and automated method of exchanging digital content, regardless of file size or location,” said Robert Browne, Signiant founder and vice president of business development and cloud solutions. “Our partnership goes back to the 2008 Beijing Games, one of the most ambitious media projects in history, in which Signiant was able to deliver thousands of media assets to Akamai in a fully automated workflow throughout the event. Since then Signiant has been used to deliver millions of assets via Akamai NetStorage, serving some of the world’s largest CDN users.”

Signiant MX provides a highly secure platform for users working from their offices or production sites, or even from home, to exchange content with other employees, customers, vendors, systems, and applications regardless of the destination, location, or size of the digital assets.

MX uses the IP-based Signiant Acceleration Protocol to maximize network efficiency, and all MX content exchanges are protected by the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) version 3 cryptographic protocol — the same security model used for authentication, authorization, and encryption of Internet transactions such as personal banking and Web shopping.
