DTS Partners with Pantech to Deliver High-Performance Audio

DTS announced a global partnership with Pantech to integrate DTS high-performance audio technology into Pantech devices including smartphones.

After a strong positive market response to Pantech’s high-end DTS-enabled Vega products, the companies formed a strategic collaboration to deliver DTS audio technology across Pantech products worldwide. The multi-year license agreement, effective immediately, will include DTS audio technology into Pantech’s industry-leading consumer entertainment devices.

“Due to the rapid adoption of our current DTS-licensed products, Pantech is committed to integrating DTS technology in all of our consumer devices,” said Jiuk Moon, CTO, senior executive VP of R&D Center at Pantech. “Consumers are increasingly using mobile devices to view entertainment content, so the bar is raised as these products are held to a higher standard. With a growing demand for immersive 3-D audio, leveraging DTS technology was a clear choice to ensure that our products continue to exceed market expectations—offering consumers an amplified, superior sound experience on-the-go.”

As a result of this partnership, DTS decoder and post processing technologies, including the DTS Envelo and DTS Boost, will be included in Pantech products.
