Studer Mixes Professional Audio and Education

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Studer as a premier sponsor.

With a state-of-the-art research and development center in Switzerland and production facilities in the UK, Studer is a leader in professional audio with a rich history in recording and broadcast.

Its current product range includes digital mixing and routing systems for television and radio broadcast, as well as live-performance applications. The company’s steadfast commitment to R&D is at the heart of its line of products, which are renowned for high-quality performance and reliability. These include the Vista and OnAir series mixing consoles.

The Vista 5 SR console was recently used by Skynight SA of Geneva to mix the opening ceremonies of the World Gymnaestrada while producing a feed for television networks. With nearly 20,000 participants from 55 nations, the 14th edition of the World Gymnaestrada was the world’s largest general gymnastics exhibition and the biggest sports event ever held in Lausanne, Switzerland.

“The sports-broadcast industry is always at the cutting edge of technology, of which audio is a major component,” says Andy Trott, VP/GM of mixers, microphones, and headphones (Soundcraft, Studer, and AKG) for parent company Harman. “As Studer, we feel we have a responsibility to continuously raise the standards for audio quality by delivering the highest-performing equipment that will, in turn, enable sports-broadcast professionals to deliver the highest-quality content to viewers. We are looking forward to our partnership with the Sports Video Group and believe this relationship will help us provide the sports market with even better solutions.”

Studer is equally committed to education. The Studer Broadcast Academy is a free training and broadcast-engineer–certification facility housed in a custom-built truck currently touring the U.S. Similar training is offered at the Soundcraft Studer Customer Experience Centre and factory in Hertfordshire, England.
