LiveClips, Encompass Digital Media Reach Agreement to Host Services

LiveClips has reached an agreement with Encompass Digital Media to host its service offerings.

“LiveClips has grown five-fold in the past year and is continuing to expand in size and reach,” said Lewis Bakes, its CEO. “The time had come to select a company to host our services, and we are fortunate to work with Encompass, a world-class company with a global footprint and facilities right in Stamford, making our working relationship all the more convenient.”

LiveClips’ patent-pending smart video clipping technology ingests live feeds from games and creates, digitizes, and delivers discrete searchable video clips of every play/replay to Web-enabled or mobile devices within 10 seconds of live action, in accordance with personalized filters set by customers.

“Encompass is pleased to host LiveClips in this innovative and emerging technology,” said Bill Tillson, president and COO of Encompass.

LiveClips, which received $2.15 million in investments over the past three months, created 83,000 discrete video clips, with 6,887 distributed to fans who viewed them over 65 million times during the 2011 NCAA/BCS college football season. ESPN and Major League Baseball, among others, have used LiveClips’ technology.

Bakes said that he, CTO/founder Doug Vunic and newly named COO Brian Kalinowski will represent LiveClips at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, along with more than 60,000 leaders of the global mobile community.

“It is our plan,” Bakes said, “to capitalize on our growth and progress and work to extend our reach into the European and worldwide sports market.”
