Phizzle Pegs NBA Entertainment Alum Christina Mixon as VP of Business Development

Phizzle, a provider of mobile marketing and digital advertising products, has named Christina Mixon has been named Vice President of Business Development for Sports.

Mixon previously held positions at the NBA and ESPN/ABC Sports, where she focused on sponsored fan engagement programs and technology broadcast development.

In her new role, Mixon will report directly to Mike Maleski, who oversees sales. She will work with Phizzle’s executive team to create long-term development strategies for the company’s expanding roster of professional, collegiate, and high school sports properties, as well as corporate sponsors. Additionally, Mixon will foster the development of new multimedia activation programs to establish and develop relationships between brands, fans, and teams.

Prior to joining Phizzle, Mixon was Director, Graphics at the NBA Entertainment, where she was responsible for the in-arena entertainment programs and worked extensively with the NBA’s marketing group to utilize new technologies to create additional sponsorship opportunities for broadcast and stadium/arena displays.

Preceding the NBA, she was associated with ESPN/ABC Sports and launched a series of new technology platforms for network productions including Sunday Night Baseball, NBA on ESPN/ABC and ESPN2’s Cold Pizza. In 2008, Mixon worked with the Beijing Olympic Broadcast Organization to create display large-screen graphic templates for the basketball venues and provided technology training for local-based video operators.
