Artist Marks Digital Switchover with 'TV Graveyard'

The UK’s telegraph.co.uk reports that the installation, named 1001 TV Sets (End Piece), which opens today at the University of Westminster’s huge P3 gallery, was created by David Hall in a bid to mark the event.

One thousand and one large analogue television sets, gathered from a range of places including people’s homes, have been laid on their backs to fill the subterranean gallery, wired from the ceiling down – with each one deafeningly blasting out one of the five terrestrial stations.

On April 18, the day the analogue switchover is scheduled to happen, (at an as of yet unknown set time), all 1,001 televisions will cease receiving content, broadcasting only a white screen accompanied by white noise.
