Campus Clips: BTN Airing Nightly Coverage of Big Ten Postseason Teams; NBC Sports Group Unveils Seven-Game Notre Dame Football Slate

With a record 16 Big Ten men’s and women’s basketball teams competing in post-season play, BTN will air nightly episodes of Big Ten Basketball and Beyond: Tournament Edition as well as postgame press conferences. Dave Revsine, Rick Pizzo and Mike Hall will alternate as hosts and be joined by analysts Jim Jackson, Gary Williams, Stephanie White, Keno Davis, Shon Morris, Tim Doyle and Mike DeCourcy. BTN also will have reporters on the six sites of the men’s NCAA Tournament following each team’s progress throughout the tournament, and will conduct one-on-one interviews with players and coaches. Additionally, postgame press conferences will be televised live on BTN and BTN2Go throughout the tournament. When two Big Ten teams play at the same time, BTN will air the post-game press conference of the game ending first, with the second following. Six men’s and seven women’s Big Ten teams are in the NCAA Tournament, while three men’s teams are competing in the NIT. …

…The NBC Sports Group will broadcast seven Notre Dame football games on NBC this season, including two in primetime, plus the 83rd annual Blue-Gold Spring Football Game on the NBC Sports Network in April…

…The Pac-12 is moving its basketball conference tournaments out of Los Angeles. Commissioner Larry Scott confirmed that the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas would house the men’s tournament beginning in 2013. The deal runs through 2015 with all games televised nationally on ESPN, FOX and the Pac-12 Networks. The women’s tournament will head up north to Seattle’s KeyArena next season. All women’s games will be televised…

…The University of Charlotte and Texas-San Antonio have had discussions with the Sun Belt Conference and are “leading candidates” to join the league, sources told CBSSports.com.
One source said both schools have received “informal invitations” to join the Sun Belt, but another source said talks had not progressed that far. Either way, the schools have had discussions with the Sun Belt and could join the league as early as the 2013-14 academic year. Charlotte, which will start football in 2013, would be leaving the Atlantic 10, where its Olympic sports have competed since 2005. Texas-San Antonio, which just completed its first football season, is joining the WAC on July 1, but would consider a move to the Sun Belt.
