NAB 2012: Level 3 To Showcase Combined Video Fiber Network

Level 3 Communications will highlight its newly expanded set of media and broadcast services that combine Level 3’s Vyvx Services platform for broadcast backhaul with Global Crossing’s Genesis Solutions managed video contribution and distribution services. The combined video fiber network – one of the largest in the world – allows the company to offer an even broader set of video solutions to media clients worldwide.

At Booth SU10415, Level 3 will showcase the company’s broadcasting and videos solutions focusing on three primary areas: Vyvx Solutions, Internet Broadcast Elements, and CDN.

Level 3 will provide demonstrations of its Emmy Award winning VenueNet+ service, Managed Video Network Services, and the Level 3 Media Portal. Visitors are invited to learn about the network expansion and reach; the augment of JPEG 2000 and HD transmission within US; continued expansion of VenueNet into more sports venues with VenueNet Lite, as well as completion of the VenueNet+ upgrade program across major league football, baseball, hockey, and basketball venues, originally launched and announced at NAB 2010.

Visitors to the Level 3 booth can watch how they can improve and streamline the delivery of services with the Level 3 Internet Broadcast Elements solution. This toolbox of services is designed to seamlessly integrate multiple Level 3 services for an end-to-end solution for delivering high-quality video online.

Level 3 will also show how customers can pair the company’s Content Delivery Network (CDN) with third-party performance reporting, all from a single source. Users can view independent, third-party data via the Level 3 Media Portal, providing insights on individual content and assets using real-time data for a better understanding of your end-users’ experience. This reliable third-party CDN performance data backs vendor and audience-targeting efforts.

The Level 3 booth will be directly connected to Level 3’s global network to deliver real life demonstrations showcasing the power and ease of use of the Level 3 services: book live HD Vyvx feeds from cameras at the Level 3 booth which connects seamlessly to the Level 3 CDN for on-line delivery; and book incoming video feeds from locations across the company’s newly expanded global network.
