MSG Network Dominates NY Emmys, YES Wins Top Team Production Awards

MSG Network led the way at the New York Emmy Awards dinner on Sunday night, taking home 14 trophies. In addition MSG Varsity won five Emmys, while MSG Plus earned two.

Meanwhile, YES Network captured the two most prestigious team production awards at the dinner, wining the “Live Sports Event: Series” Emmy for its Yankees telecasts, and the “Live Sports Event: Program or Special” Emmy for its coverage of Derek Jeter’s 3000^th hit game on July 9, 2011. YES won a total of five Emmy Awards, including “Technical Achievement” category for its use of its YES-MO camera which presents the clearest, most definitive replays within Yankees telecasts. YES’ Forbes SportsMoney show, co-produced in conjunction with Forbes magazine, won its first Emmy, in the “Business or Consumer: Program or Special” category.   YES’ fifth Emmy last night was for research, for Yankeeography, which is co-produced with MLB Productions.  Yankeeography has won 18 Emmy Awards since 2003.

The 55th annual New York Emmy Awards were presented by the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Sunday night during a black-tie gala at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Nominees were culled from a record 2,148 entries.
