Miranda To Show Integrated Playout and On-Demand Solutions at 2012 PBS TechCon

Miranda Technologies will highlight integrated playout and on-demand solutions at the PBS Technology Conference (TechCon 12). The company will showcase its iTX integrated playout system in Booth 111 and will also present two papers that address file normalization and Video On Demand (VOD).

On April 11, John Wadle, senior sales engineer, will present “Normalizing File-Based Content for Playout.” He will review methods for normalizing files to a standard “distribution” format that will support both linear playout and parallel services, such as web streaming and VOD publishing.

On April 13, Miranda’s Peter Wharton, strategic account manager, will present “Automating Video on Demand Creation to Increase Viewing, Underwriting, and Web Revenue.” In his presentation, Wharton will discuss how to make VOD a consistent, high-value revenue generator by exploring custom-branded VOD asset delivery techniques that maximize viewership and minimize costs, including proven methods for rebranding, promotion and sponsorship.

The PBS Technology Conference is the premier annual gathering for broadcast engineers, information technology, and traffic professionals, as well as general managers and senior executives within public television.

John Wadle’s file normalization presentation takes place on Wednesday, April 11 from 1-2 p.m. at Caesars Palace, Roman Ballroom II. Peter Wharton takes the stage to discuss VOD in Roman Ballroom IV on Friday, April 13 from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
