NAB 2012: Studer’s Glaettli Offers Booth Preview

Since last year’s NAB Show, the Studer R&D team in Switzerland has been concentrating on the design and development of a raft of new products ready to show at this year’s NAB show. Peter Glaettli, director of R&D, describes the highlights of the company’s booth at NAB:

“Pride of place goes to the new Studer Vista 1 Compact console, our lowest-ever priced Vista that has integral I/O, DSP, and power supplies to provide a sophisticated digital mixing system in a single compact and portable chassis. I/O count and patching can be expanded with any of the Studer Stagebox range. It’s the perfect, cost-effective solution for local TV stations and space-conscious installations.

“Supplementing all Vista consoles is the new Studer Vista Compact Remote bay, which can be used to remotely control or extend the desk, perfect for live environments, such as outside broadcast, theaters, and performance venues.

“The Vista options also grow with the Vista FX engine, which integrates control of eight Lexicon effects and 30-band graphic equalizers into the Vistonics user interface.

“We’ve added EMBER protocol implementation for integration with third-party broadcast-control/newsroom-automation systems, such as VSM and Mosart, and met one of the prime demands in broadcast today with the optional addition of RTW loudness metering on our Vista 9 and Vista 5 consoles.

“Finally, we’re previewing our D21m Axia Livewire interface card providing easy integration with AoIP environments.”
