“We are building on the success of our publishing platform and now helping our customers monetize premium mobile inventory. Smartphones and tablets have changed the way media is consumed and we recognize the opportunity for brands to reach and engage new audiences,” says Kunal Gupta, chief executive officer, Polar Mobile. “Hundreds of premium publishers work with Polar and long-term, we plan to leverage robust analytics from our software platform to provide brands with better intelligence on the audiences they are reaching through their mobile marketing efforts.”

Polar Premium clients will benefit from reach and scale across hundreds of premium publishers who work with Polar today, including Condé Nast, The Hockey News, Canadian Living, NHLPA, Toronto Star, Elle, and The Wall Street Journal. Polar is a trusted partner for premium publishers looking to distribute their content to smartphones and tablet devices, having launched over 1,200 mobile apps, served over 1.8 billion pages views and reached over 12 million users in 150 countries.

Polar Premium is divided into channels (News & Business, Sports and Lifestyle & Entertainment) and supports placement of display banner and rich media advertising on mobile websites and mobile apps across all major devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry, PlayBook, Windows Phone, and Nokia devices). Polar is leveraging trusted third-party reporting and ad server systems to enable seamless integration into clients’ existing business processes.

“Advertisers are looking for innovative ways to reach high-value audiences and mobile is a channel that has shown higher engagement levels when compared to other digital advertising,” says Jeff Anderson, vice president of media sales, Polar Mobile.

Jeff joins Polar with over 15 years of industry experience, having worked with AOL, Microsoft, Canwest, and Pattison.

Earlier this year, Polar announced a fund-raise that brings the total of  invested capital into the business since inception to $9 million.
