Dimenco Leverages Dolby 3D Technology

Dimenco, a technology company in the field of auto-stereoscopic displays, has licensed technology under the Dolby 3D program. It is now able to offer Dimenco’s glasses-free ultra-high-resolution 3D displays with Dolby 3D image processing.  Dimenco is demonstrating the Dolby 3D technology on its new 56-inch 4k 3D display at the SID Show (5th – 7th of June 2012) in booth 848.

Based on a combined project between Dolby Laboratories, Inc. and Royal Philips Electronics, Dolby 3D is a 3D HD format and suite of technologies designed to deliver full HD 3D content to 3D-enabled devices, including glasses-free displays. It has been developed to improve the 3D viewing experience on displays of all sizes, including smartphones, tablets, PC’s, and televisions. Dolby 3D is a complete system designed to work throughout the chain to deliver clear glasses-free 3D content that operates over existing distribution systems.

The new Dimenco 56” 4K glasses-free 3D display with Dimenco Clear View technology creates a stunning full HD 3D experience with the highest contrast, deepest black levels and best 3D viewing angle. With the implementation of Dolby 3D technology, it is now possible to enjoy existing 3D content in the most stunning and comfortable way.

In addition to implementing Dolby 3D within the Dimenco displays, Dimenco provides FPGA-cores and acts as an implementation partner for auto-stereoscopic displays in the market. This recognizes Dimenco as the leading auto-stereoscopic technology company.
