ProductionHUB Helps Connect Companies and Professionals
For over a decade, ProductionHUB has been actively connecting production vendors and professionals with those seeking to create productions in the field or on set. Companies such as ESPN, CBS Sports, and NBC Universal use ProductionHUB as a tool when searching to hire knowledgeable cameramen, editors, teleprompting operators, and other creative professionals.
Atlanta-based Peachtree Prompters is one example of the many companies found on ProductionHUB for their expertise and services. Peachtree has been providing multiple teleprompters for the SEC Championships since the organization found them years ago. They also provide teleprompting operators to assist in rigging cameras, changing scripts and rolling the prompter for talent during events.
So how did Peachtree Prompters get found by such a well known sporting event like the SEC Championship? They had placed an ad on ProductionHUB back in late 90s, and it caught the attention of someone at CBS Sports. They contacted Peachtree Prompters after seeing the ad, and have been working together ever since.
“I have been recommending ProductionHUB to colleagues for years” says Lauri Plesco, from Peachtree Prompters.
The SEC Championship is one of the most intense live jobs Peachtree Prompters takes part in each year. It takes a lot of skill to be in sync with sportscasters as they watch playbacks and switch in between live program and VO. Peachtree’s job is to update live scores and statistics to the minute, and on the fly. They must able to keep rolling the script fluidly for the sportscasters while simultaneously making script changes. This job isn’t for everyone; only the seasoned operators are able to achieve this feat year after year.
A challenge Peachtree Prompters came across while working the SEC Championship was the lighting from the field to the audience. The lights in the Georgia Dome were very intense and could not be controlled to serve Peachtree’s camera & teleprompting needs. Peachtree Prompters solved this issue by providing a 17″ Teleprompter with the brightest outdoor capacity available. Now, bright lights and the sun can hit the teleprompter and text is still clear and precise for talent to read.
“Another great thing about these teleprompters are that they are the biggest teleprompters available in the Southeast,” says Plesco. “So when the Director wanted us to rig a prompter below their main camera (which has a wide angle lens) we simply showed them that our hoods and rigging technology could be used to rig over their camera with the wide angle lens and the hood is never seen.”
