Aspera Partners with Singapore’s Ideal Systems

Aspera, creators of next-generation software technologies, has established a reseller partnership with Ideal Systems in Singapore, one of Asia’s largest providers of integrated broadcast solutions.

Under the arrangement, Aspera will provide Ideal Systems’ customers with its complete portfolio of software solutions based on its patented fasp transport technology, enabling high-speed movement, distribution, workflow management, synchronization and exchange of big data, from any source to any destination, on any platform and any device.

“We are extremely pleased to partner with Ideal Systems Singapore to expand Aspera’s product availability in the region,” said John Wastcoat, vice president at Aspera. “As a leading solutions provider, Ideal Systems recognizes the value and universal adoption of our ultra high-speed data transport platform, but also the breadth of our solutions for media asset distribution, collaboration and automation that customers demand.”

“Aspera technology is an essential differentiator that allows us to define and supply comprehensive, best-of-breed solutions to the local broadcast marketplace,” said Fintan McKiernan, CEO of Ideal Systems. “Aspera’s breakthrough innovations in the transport of large media assets, enablement of global file-based collaboration and workflow automation are of great value to our customers and critical to creating future-proof media broadcasting systems.”

Headquartered in Hong Kong, with offices in Singapore, Taiwan, China, Thailand and India, Ideal Systems provides broadcasters and production studios throughout the region with leading edge media solutions, ranging from DTH, digital cable, mobile TV and cloud computing to playout platforms and post production capabilities.

At BroadcastAsia (booth 4P2-11), Aspera is showcasing its latest high-speed transfer and workflow management software solutions for digital media, including the new Aspera Shares, next-generation Aspera faspex Server with mobile, email, and desktop clients for secure, universal media access. Aspera will also highlight its Direct-to-S3 software for high-speed and secure transfer of file-based content at any global distance through Aspera’s fasp transport technology and cloud-based “object” storage systems such as Amazon Web Services S3.

Also at BroadcastAsia, Aspera president and co-founder Michelle Munson will present “Transforming cloud storage systems to support digital media,” as a featured speaker in the “Syncing Up with Cloud Broadcasting” track of the BroadcastAsia 2012 International Conference. Michelle will share best practices in the orchestration of complex, large-scale file-based media workflows and also address the requirements and challenges of on-premise, cloud and hybrid IT infrastructure designs.
