He primarily works college sports for ESPN, calling the weekly Saturday Night Football series on ABC, a role he has held since its debut in 2006, and several bowl games a year, highlighted by the BCS National Championship. He is also the announcer on an extensive schedule of men’s college basketball, most recently working ESPN’s Big 12 Big Monday telecasts. CBS Sports’ Bill Macatee will assume the lead play-by-play role joining Mary Carillo and John McEnroe in the broadcast booth for the CBS’s coverage of the 2012 U.S. Open Tennis Championships. Macatee replaces Dick Enberg, who retired from national telecasts in order to focus on his duties as San Diego Padres play-by-play announcer.
In addition, CBS Sports’ coverage of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships will see Ian Eagle call play-by-play alongside Jim Courier, and Chris Wragge will serve as a contributor for the Network’s studio updates throughout the two weeks.

CBS Sports Network has added former University of Illinois head football coach Ron Zook, former University of Mississippi head football coach Houston Nutt and former University of Minnesota head football coach Tim Brewster to its talent roster for the upcoming college footballs season. Brewster teams with play-by-play announcer Dave Ryan and reporter Evan Washburn to call Conference USA and Patriot League games, while Zook and Nutt will serve as studio analysts on the Network’s various college football shows.

ESPN softball analyst Michele Smith served a guest analyst for last Sunday’s Dodgers/Braves MLB game on TBS.
