Trio Video All Over Busy Sports Winter in Chicago

Trio Video engineers and staff have enjoyed a busy stretch over the past few months, covering some of the biggest events in and out of the Chicago area.

For the first time ever Chicago’s Soldier Field was home to college hockey. MU Phoenix was on site helping long-time client Intersport produce The OfficeMax Hockey City Classic broadcast of two games last month. It was a day of upsets as No. 12 Notre Dame upset No. 3 Miami and No. 2 Minnesota lost to No. 18 Wisconsin. The games were available to an audience of more than 100 million households.

TrioIn the meantime, Chicago’s NHL club the Blackhawks have roared out of the gates to a historic start. Trio Video has been on-site with trucks for Comcast SportsNet Chicago’s coverage of the Blackhawks and the Bulls. April also brings new beginnings for the Cubs and the White Sox. For over 25 years Trio has supplied trucks, crew and tech support for the broadcasts of all four professional sports teams to WGN-TV and Comcast SportsNet Chicago.

USA’s top Skaters defended their titles at the 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships as engineers and drivers from Mobile Units ND5, Trio Rhythm, Live Power and ST19 were on hand in Omaha, NE. NEP technicians worked together to cover the Skating Championships for NBC’s USA audiences plus IceNetwork.com. The worldwide feed of IceNetwork was produced by Rob Dustin at Redbrick Entertainment.

Presidential Election Night
HD mobile unit Tempo engineers  plus support staff along with NEP Screenworks were on hand in Chicago for longtime client C3 Presents to cover all the excitement of Election Night.  Trio’s team supplied state of the art graphics and video network solutions. Attendees at President Obamas’ invitation-only event were able to watch up to six channels of enhanced network television throughout Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The Music Scene 
Hank Neuberger of Springboard Productions was on hand with NEP Visions MU HD6 in London as Italian DJ and record producer Bennie Benassi performed some of his greatest hits for webcast to a worldwide audience.  Bennie is best known for his 2002 summer club hit “Satisfaction.”

 

MU Platinum and Mercury were on site recently at the historic Ordway Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota covering the world premiere of “Doubt” the opera. Trio and Corplex engineers were on hand to supply support and technical expertise to the world famous Minnesota Opera Production team and longtime NEP Trio client Joe Brandmeier of Moving Pictures Productions.

 

For the seventh year in a row, Trio Video will be on site at Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California supplying state of the art technical engineering support along with HD mobile units’ Rhythm and Blues. The webcast, produced by Springboard Productions and Goldenvoice is predicted to be watched by millions worldwide.

 

Meanwhile, for the 8th year in a row, Trio Video will supply HD mobile units and engineering tech support to Bonnaroo – North Americas Largest Music Festival. In June, mobile units Tango, Rhythm, Beta and Blues will be  on site supplying over 25 cameras and two master control rooms, covering 4 days of music, The webcast, produced by Thirdwave Productions, Superfly and AC Entertainment has a potential worldwide audience of over 30 million.
