Mountain West Conference Seeks Associate Commissioner To Head Mountain West Digital Network

The Mountain West Conference, an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision conference located in Colorado Springs, Colo., is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Associate Commissioner – Mountain West Digital Network, who will be a member of the Conference office senior management team.

Mountain-West-LogoThe successful candidate will minimally be responsible for the following:

1. Serving as the liaison with Mountain West member institutions related to all matters of the Mountain West Digital Network, including, but not limited to:

a. Guidance and education of video coordinators
b. Collaboration with sports information/media relations directors
c. Cooperation with marketing directors
d. Activation of campus broadcast/journalism/communications departments
e. Overall coordination with athletic departments
f. Navigation of streaming contracts with member institution website partners
g. Video player(s) placement on member institution websites

2. Working with league technology partners on development and management of network, including, but not limited to:

a. Serving as a Mountain West representative on the network board of directors
b. Establishing network standards and broadcast quality parameters
c. Production planning and execution
d. Distribution
e. Scheduling
f. Budget
g. Branding
h. Talent
i. Equipment assessment
j. Venue infrastructure needs
k. Programming
i. Social media

3. Developing and implementing sponsorship opportunities with sales and technology partners; ensuring delivery of all sold Mountain West inventory

4. Daily internal management of network

a. Manage daily operation of network with Executive Producer
b. Develop championships production and coverage plans (live vs. taped)
c. Travel to championships sites to oversee digital network coverage
d. Work with conference licensing partners to ensure proper archiving of all historical video and metadata
e. Studio management
f. Monitor fulfillment of programming commitments

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Demonstrated history of strong broadcast and/or digital network management experience at a senior level, with an understanding of technology and trends. Track record of growing this type of business over the course of a minimum of 10-15 years. The ability to build both internal and external business relationships in all areas of the position is essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated computer skills, particularly in application of digital production and Office software. Show initiative and meet established goals and deadlines.
