University of Washington Taps XOS Digital to Upgrade Coaching Technology

XOS Digital, a provider of content management solutions and digital coaching technology for collegiate and professional sports organizations, announced the University of Washington football program has selected XOS Digital’s ThunderCloud coaching products in addition to Thunder Integration services for audiovisual renovations at Husky Stadium. The announcement was made today by Matt Bairos, CEO, XOS Digital.

“The Huskies have been a valued partner since 2005, and we are excited to provide them with the most advanced coaching products,” said Joe Schrimpl, Vice President of Thunder Integration. “Our ThunderCloud products and Thunder Integration services will completely streamline and mobilize the coaching workflow, enabling staff to work from anywhere at any time.”

The XOS ThunderCloud Suite extends the power of the XOS Thunder HD coaching platform by utilizing cloud-based technology that integrates data and video on a single platform to analyze, manage, and distribute game preparation content.

ThunderCloud Playbook, one of the products in the XOS ThunderCloud Suite, offers a digital alternative to the traditional playbook, and comes equipped with a multitude of features including telestration and voice-over options. Coaches can provide interactive play diagrams, video highlights, and other game-preparation materials directly to player iPads.

Playbook also works directly with XOS Thunder to link specific plays to the corresponding video and provides security with account management features including file encryption and the ability to remotely wipe or disable player accounts.

In addition to ThunderCloud coaching products, XOS Digital will provide Thunder Integration Services throughout Husky Stadium. Integration services provide custom audiovisual systems in coaching and player areas including the video room, team meeting rooms, conference rooms, locker room, weight room, player lounge and 23 offices. This state-of-the-art audiovisual system will streamline coaching workflow and game preparation.

“So much happens behind the scenes during game preparation and team meetings,” said Nick Irving, Associate Director of Video Operations. “It’s increasingly important to have the absolute best possible resources and utilize the latest technology available to maximize our training and preparation and ensure we maintain a competitive advantage.”

With full audiovisual integration, the Huskies are able to utilize new technologies that provide workflow automation between video editing systems, content distribution and coaching tools. The entire coaching staff will now be able to easily acquire, manage, distribute, and display content throughout each area of the facility.
