‘SportsPostLA’ To Put Spotlight on Postproduction at SVG/Variety Sports Entertainment Summit

SVG’s ‘SportsPostLA’ event will put the spotlight on the world of sports postproduction when it hits the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on Aug. 15, as part of the SVG/Variety Sports Entertainment Summit. The track of afternoon sessions will address the latest technologies and workflows that are changing the way content is created today – both in the sports realm and in Hollywood.

A trio of SportsPostLA panels will address everything from cloud-based workflows and the future of postproduction technology to storytelling tips and techniques from leading sports operations (ESPN and Fox Sports) and Hollywood postproduction entities (Windowseat Pictures and Troika Design Group).

In addition, KingsVision (the production arm of the Los Angeles Kings) will present an in-depth case study of their current postproduction ecosystem and how they maneuvered through the team’s hair-raising – but worthwhile – Stanley Cup-winning campaign in 2012.

On top of the SportsPostLA afternoon track, SVG and Variety will offer up a full day’s worth of sessions that address the rapidly converging media markets of sports and entertainment, highlighted by Fox Sports Media Group COO and Co-President Randy Freer’s opening keynote, which will offer an inside look at the upcoming launch of the Fox Sports 1 cable network.
