NCAA.com Set to Kick Off 2013 College Football Season with GameCenter, Exclusive Video Features

NCAA.com, managed by Turner Sports, is ready for the open of the 2013 college football season with a fully interactive online and mobile experience featuring highlights from top games, exclusive weekly video franchises and the return of GameCenter, a live stats companion. Each week during the season, fans will have complete access to game recaps, stats, rankings, photos and social chatter accessible through NCAA.com and via its mobile website.

NCAAcomGameCenter, the NCAA.com live stats companion, will mark its return this year coinciding with the first game of the college football season – North Carolina vs. South Carolina – Thursday, Aug. 29. GameCenter, also accessible via the NCAA.com mobile website, allows fans to track their team’s performance including scoring drives, real-time statistics and play-by-play logs for the majority of FBS conferences including the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC.

Additionally, GameCenter serves as the social hub for all games, where users can make predictions about the game, chat with other fans and “like” or “follow” their team via Twitter and Facebook integration. Users can toggle from game to game and stay up to date on the latest action. GameCenter also features post-game video highlights from the Top 25 games.

Beginning Monday, NCAA.com will provide a full slate of weekly college football content highlighted by:

  • NCAA.com Power Rankings – Every Tuesday, NCAA.com’s editorial staff will compile a statistically-based power ranking of the Top 15 teams in the nation. Fans will have the opportunity to weigh in, share their opinions and submit their version of the power rankings.
  • NCAA.com Three-Point Stance – A new video franchise that highlights the top three FBS and FCS national storylines of the week in a three-to-four minute video segment.
  • NCAA.com Under Center – Each week, NCAA.com analyst Dave Archer will break down the top matchups of the week, make predictions and more.
  • Game Highlights – Video recaps from select FBS games each week.

“NCAA.com will offer college football fans an interactive multimedia destination to receive all the latest information on their favorite schools and conferences,” said Mark Johnson, vice president of business operations, Turner Sports. “Much like the passionate fans we serve, we’re excited for the opening kickoff to the season.”
