Comcast SportsNet Presents Exclusive Coverage of 38th Marine Corps Marathon

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic will serve as the exclusive television partner and present comprehensive multiplatform coverage of the 38th Marine Corps Marathon, which will be held Sunday, Oct. 27. The network’s coverage will be highlighted by a live, 90-minute Marathon-day show and extensive news and digital media content surrounding the historic event.

comcastsportsnetComcast SportsNet will air Live from the Marine Corps Marathon, presented by Navy Federal Credit Union, from the starting line in Arlington, Va., on Oct. 27 from 7 to 8:30 a.m. The program will be led by host Jill Sorenson with analysis from Chas Henry – a retired U.S. Marine and award-winning combat journalist – and reporting from Evan Washburn. The special coverage will include exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes access and live coverage of the official MCM start at 7:55 a.m. The program will also be available on video on demand services, depending on provider and location.

Live from the Marine Corps Marathon will feature several special guests, including actress, humanitarian and international spokesperson Maggie Q., the star of the television drama Nikita who will serve as the honorary starter. Also scheduled to appear on the program are General James F. Amos, Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps; B. Todd Jones, Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives (ATF); Team Hoyt, the father-son duo Dick and Rick Hoyt who began officially running marathons at the MCM in 1982; and former Olympian and renowned marathon trainer Jeff Galloway.

Comcast SportsNet’s digital media platforms, which are led by CSNwashington.com, will also provide extensive online content covering the MCM, highlighted by video coverage of runners crossing the finish line, which will be available following the race. In addition to race-day coverage, the network will deliver MCM preview segments and feature stories across its news shows, including Geico SportsNet Central, and digital platforms leading up to the event.
