12,000 Pixels Wide No-Glasses 3D Video Wall Opens in Tokyo

The following is from a Press Release issued by Dimenco Displays:

Veldhoven – Oct 1st Dimenco Displays and NGC have launched a gigantic video wall composed of six 50” Glasses-Free 3D 4K displays in Chuo University of Tokyo.

The project was carried out in Chuo University in Tokyo on September 27th. Six (2 vertical x 3 horizontal) 50” 4K displays formed an enormous video wall of outstanding 12K resolution.

According to Erik van der Tol, Managing Partner of Dimenco Displays, who was in the execution team,” The video wall of Chuo University has truly brought a new dimension to the Glasses-Free 3D digital signage industry in terms of the size of displays and quality of the 3D image. The greatest challenge was to drive six 50” Glasses-Free 3D 4K displays with the hardware and software to achieve an optimized freedom of movement and depth perception simultaneously. I believe that we have transcended 4K resolution to the realm of 12K for the first time and experienced amazing 3D quality. NGC’s level of expertise made the installation and alignment of individual screens easy. Also, very good communication with NGC and splendid teamwork hugely helped the success of the project. After all, good teamwork and solid planning makes a project successful.”
