Jeff Krolik Promoted to President of FOX Sports Regional Networks

Jeff Krolik, an accomplished media executive who has led the day-to-day operations for FOX Sports Regional Networks as executive vice president since 2007, has been promoted to the position of President.  The announcement was made today by Eric Shanks, President and COO of FOX Sports, to whom Krolik will report.

In addition to continuing his oversight of FOX Sports Regional Networks, which comprises an industry-leading 22 owned-and-operated networks, Krolik will assume oversight of FOX Deportes, the No. 1 U.S. Latino Sports channel.  FOX Deportes leads both Univision Deportes and ESPN Deportes in year-to-date total viewers and persons 18-49.

“Jeff has played a vital role in growing our regional sports network business and helping it become the industry leader it is today,” says Shanks.  “I’m confident Jeff will continue to do an outstanding job managing our regional business, while also overseeing the growth of FOX Deportes.”

Krolik joined FOX Sports in 2007, helping to grow the regional sports group from 18 to 22 networks.  Over the past two years, FOX Sports Regional Networks has added FOX Sports San Diego, FOX Sports New Orleans, and SportsTime Ohio to its roster of owned-and-operated regional sports networks and has acquired 49% of the YES Network.  Through his management of FOX Sports Regional Networks, Krolik oversees local relationships with 45 NBA, NHL, and MLB teams and is responsible for a business that produces more than 5,000 live sports telecasts annually.

Prior to FOX Sports, Krolik served as general manager of Fox Sports Bay Area from 1995 – 2007.  During his tenure there, Krolik led the effort to convert the network from a premium channel to a basic cable channel.  Before that, Krolik spent 15 years at HBO, where he last served as vice president of HBO International, responsible for identifying and developing pay-TV channels and other media ventures in key global markets.  Among his notable achievements was the successful launch of HBO in Brazil.    Krolik began his professional career in government as staff assistant to Vice President Nelson Rockefeller.
