ABI Research Report: Elemental Tops Multiscreen Encoder Market
Elemental Technologies, a supplier of software-defined video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, led the scoring in a recent multiscreen encoding competitive assessment by ABI Research. Elemental and 18 other vendors were evaluated based on their overall innovation and implementation in the market.
The ABI Research report, “Video Delivery Hardware and Platforms”, provides a global competitive assessment and market share analysis that spans traditional encoding vendors, newer companies that have arisen around multiscreen challenges, as well as cloud-based encoding solutions.
“Elemental is a clear innovator in the video encoding market,” says Sam Rosen, practice director for ABI Research. “The company’s strong reference customers in a number of key encoding market segments, and aggressive implementations of next-generation technologies such as HEVC, cloud and virtual datacenters give the company strong performance across the board.”
Elemental recently received the TV Technology Best of Show Award at NAB for its real-time HEVC implementation, the Video Edge Best of Show Award at NAB for Elemental Cloud, and the Digital Studio Technology Implementation of the Year Award for its 4K HEVC solution. The company is the first to integrate with the Ericsson Virtualized Encoding platform, and has achieved multiple milestones related to real-time 4Kp60/HEVC and cloud video processing.
“Elemental believes that video providers must adapt quickly to stay ahead of changing viewer consumption habits for video,” says Keith Wymbs, chief marketing officer for Elemental. “Our customers are embracing a software-defined video approach in order to succeed in a rapidly changing market where new devices, applications and technologies are constantly evolving.”
Elemental is demonstrating its software-defined video processing solutions in the CableNet booth at The Cable Show conference and exhibition (April 29 – May 1 at the Los Angeles Convention Center) and will showcase its full suite of video processing solutions for cable, broadband and satellite providers at ANGA COM 2014 (May 20 – 22 in Cologne, Germany).
