Campus Clips: Each SEC Football Team Will Be On SEC Network in First Four Weeks; Pac-12 Networks To Bring Back Docu-Series “The Drive”

The SEC Network, the new national sports network launching August 14 and operated by ESPN, will air a game featuring every football team in the Southeastern Conference within the first four weeks of the 2014 college football season. The first 16 games include a home game from all 14 SEC football stadiums. In addition, eight SEC schools will open their 2014 seasons on the network, including the defending SEC Champion, Auburn, and Arkansas in a conference matchup at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 30…

…Pac-12 Networks announced its documentary series The Drive: Pac-12 Football will return for a second season this fall and will focus on the 2014 UCLA Bruins football program.

Season two of The Drive will debut in early September 2014 and consist of fifteen 30-minute weekly episodes airing across all seven Pac-12 Networks, offering an unprecedented look inside UCLA football, from the first whistle of training camp to the Bruins’ final game.

Different from season one, where the series split time between Arizona State and California football programs, UCLA Bruins players and coaches will be the primary focus throughout the college football season, with Pac-12 Network film crews capturing the ins and outs of their lives, both on and off the field…

…In college softball, ESPN will televise five conference championship games and the entire SEC tournament between Wednesday, May 7, and Sunday, May 11, while ESPN3 will carry up to an additional 21 conference tournament games – including six conference championship games – between Thursday, May 8, and Saturday, May 10. …The first CBS Sports Classic will be held Dec. 20 in Chicago. Kentucky, which under the guidance of coach John Calipari advanced to the NCAA title game in April, will play Steve Alford’s UCLA team. In the second game, North Carolina will play Ohio State. The four teams have combined for 25 NCAA tournament championships.

The event is similar to the Champions Classic, which features Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State and Kansas. That showcase tournament is held the third week of December every season. The CBS Sports Classic will change venues after the 2014 meeting at the United Center…
