SNY To Present Select Mets Games With Limited Commercial Interruption

SNY, the official television home of the New York Mets, New York Jets, and all things New York sports, announced that it will give viewers more of the network’s award winning broadcast team of Ron Darling, Keith Hernandez, Gary Cohen, and Kevin Burkhardt as part of Mets+ — SNY’s first-ever collection of limited commercial interruption telecasts — debuting Thursday, June 12 with the Mets-Brewers 7pm broadcast from Citi Field.

In partnership with Verizon FIOS the SNY telecast will minimize commercial interruption between innings in order to bring viewers closer to the action like never before through unique and unprecedented in-game audio enhancements, features, and on-field access.

“We are excited to partner with Verizon on Mets+, and once again break creative ground with our SNY game broadcasts,” said Curt Gowdy, Jr., Sr. Vice President & Executive Producer, SNY. “This format allows us to utilize the distinctive talents of our exceptional broadcast team without the restrictions of our normal in-game breaks.”
With Mets+, fans will receive further in-depth analysis from SNY’s critically acclaimed booth, along with additional segments designed to enhance the viewer experience such as:

• In-game interviews featuring Mets field reporter Kevin Burkhardt and Mets players and coaches from various locations including the clubhouse, dugout, and bullpen.

• Live behind-the-scenes look at the Mets ground crew.

• In-game discussion between lead studio analyst Bob Ojeda and Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez, and Ron Darling.

• Specially produced segments including Mets Memory vignettes, player reports, and player profiles.

• Expanded studio cut-ins with highlights and analysis from games across Major League Baseball.

“Our sponsorship of Mets+, is a continuation of a long and successful partnership with SNY,” said Angie Klein, vice president of marketing for Verizon’s Northeast region. “This unique SNY-Mets+ broadcast is similar to the TV viewing experience our customers get when they subscribe to our recently introduced FiOS Quantum TV. This new innovation from Verizon delivers the best, most satisfying TV experience to customers, with features and functionality they want such as more choice, storage and control. We’re happy to bring New Yorkers this unique broadcast, with limited commercial interruptions.”

In addition to elevating the quality of the TV experience with FiOS Quantum TV, Verizon has also created the best seat in the house for Mets fans with the Quantum Ultimate Viewing Chair, a specially designed leather, massaging fan chair. To be given to one lucky fan later in the season, the chair allows viewers to watch TV on a 19-inch HD TV, surf the web on two built-in tablets, and enjoy their favorite snacks from holders on the sides of the chair. It will be on display at Citi Field in front of the Verizon Studio starting June 14th.

Mets First Pitch presented by Cadillac begins the night’s Mets coverage with highlights from Terry Collins’ pre-game press conference and features exclusive instructional segments with Gary, Keith and Ron. Pepsi Pre-Game Live, with host Gary Apple and lead studio analyst Bob Ojeda, follows Mets First Pitch at 6:30pm with the most-up-to-date news and insight on the team leading into the Mets+ telecast of Mets-Brewers. Immediately following the game, Apple and Ojeda return to wrap-up all the action from Citi Field with W.B. Mason Post-Game Live.
