NACDA 2014: Piksel’s Digital Stadium Solution Launches

Piksel, a provider of video monetization software and solutions, launched its Digital Stadium solution for college and high school sports properties. The unique solution is a complete rights-to-revenue ecosystem that was unveiled at National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Conference in Orlando, FL, June 9-10th.

pikselCollege and high school sports are hugely popular in North America, but not every institution is able to capture a broadcast window into the lounge rooms of fans.  Kevin Joyce, Piksel’s Chief Commercial Officer, explains that Piksel’s Digital Stadium is a way for sports properties to harness the power of the internet and connected devices to reach a wider fan base, and create revenue opportunities from subscription and advertising.

“The Internet is second only to television for watching sports. In fact, almost 1 in 4 sports fans watch sports online via an internet-enabled mobile device; and this trend continues to grow. With a Digital Stadium eco-system, you have the tools you need to manage and monetize your game content, as well as open up opportunities for sponsorship. Not to mention creating a means to get your games on the most important screen there is for sporting content – the TV set in people’s living rooms.”

Key components of the Piksel Digital Stadium solution include:

–  Connected TV – bypass the broadcast networks and reach the lounge room directly with Roku apps to deliver live-streamed and on-demand content via your own branded television channel.

–  Website – create an official athletic site (OAS) integrated with videos of live games, upcoming game schedules, social sharing, stats, standings, rankings, and more.

–  Mobile Apps – a truly portable experience that leverages native and branded mobile apps with live video streaming, an integrated Twitter feed, and any information from your responsive website (both iOS and Android).

– Digital Signage – deliver content to a captive audience through TV screens on campus or in stadium, controlled from a single interface. Display HD-quality videos (live and video-on-demand), advertising and promotion for upcoming games and events, plus up-to-the-minute data feeds of news, weather, and social media.

Piksel will be demonstrating Digital Stadium™ at NACDA from June 9-10 at booth #128.
