BT Media and Broadcast and Nevion have signed an agreement to provide bundled media network solutions to broadcasters throughout the world.cThe agreement will see the companies integrate BT’s Global Media Network (GMN) service with Nevion’s video compression and transport equipment to provide combined, cutting-edge solutions to global broadcasters.

NevionMark Wilson-Dunn, Global Vice President of BT Media and Broadcast said, “By combining our Global Media Network with Nevion’s market-leading equipment and expertise, we can offer a unique proposition for broadcasters and indeed any businesses that need professional quality media, transported in real-time between locations.

“We have already proven the value of these joint services for some of the leading names in broadcasting, so it makes sense to work together even more closely in future and work on ways to increase that value.”

Nevion CEO Geir Bryn-Jensen said: “We are obviously delighted with this agreement. We have a relationship with BT that goes back a long way. We even have a technical center of excellence on BT’s Adastral Park campus in Ipswich, UK, which means we can work very closely together. So formalizing the relationship made a lot of sense, given the clear benefits BT and Nevion can offer jointly to our customers and our proven track record of delivering solutions together.”

Mark and Geir will be participating in a panel discussion at BroadcastAsia, Singapore on the subject of “4K Transmission As The Missing Link for 4K Adoption” (2pm, 17 June 2014).
