NewTek Partnership with Studio Network Solutions Opens Asset Management Doors

Production equipment developer NewTek highlights its commitment to work with the industry at large through its rapidly growing NewTek Developer Network.

At this year’s NAB Show, NewTek announced partnerships in the network with 22 new workflows, including storage and media asset management provider Storage Network Solutions (SNS).

Content from NewTek’s TriCaster and 3Play systems can now be centrally stored and immediately accessed for editing, searching, and previewing. EVO includes native asset management, project, bin, media and cloud sharing tools.

“It’s been a great partnership,” says Ryan Stoutenborough, president of SNS.It’s allowing a lot of our joint customers to feel good about connecting these systems together and it’s helping them tell a much richer story. It’s an improvement on the production process. It takes these TriCaster and 3Play environments and allows for moving from live production to postproduction in an instant.”

In a live production, users can simultaneously capture up to eight camera ISOs directly to EVO, while playing back GFX and DDR content such as stills, clips and audio from EVO without limiting other network sources such as iVGA, Airplay, LiveText or other IP based solutions.

EVO can be a SAN, a NAS, or both at the same time, and is developed and tuned for the demanding workflow needs of TV, film, video, graphics, VFX, animation, audio, and broadcast production environments.

For equipment resellers such as New York-based The Studio – B&H, the collaboration is an opportunity to open doors in asset management workflows that medium and small production outfits could never utilize before.

“These guys want to be able to do their sports production in a way that’s far more efficient than the way they have in the past,” says Michel Suissa, Manager, Professional Solutions for The Studio – B&H. “This is going to give them that level of efficiency. Having editors working on that content while its being captured is fantastic for them.”
