The Baltimore Ravens’ 2014 preseason opener last Thursday against San Francisco was the first time fans could see the results of a two-year, $35 million dollar renovation to M&T Bank Stadium that centered on concourse features and audio-visual upgrades, writes The Baltimore Sun. New improvements for the 2014 seasons include the addition of four 6-foot by 22-foot LED screens to the upper level concourses, streamlined concession services across the stadium, and renovated the upper-level concession stands…

…Once the Cubs finish renovating Wrigley Field, some of the most luxurious seats at the historic stadium may not even come with a view of the field, writes the Chicago Tribune. As part of its four-year, $575 million overhaul of the stadium and surrounding area, the team wants to build “bunker suites” below the stands near the Cubs dugout and down the third base line, according to plans the team filed with the city. Sports teams hope that iBeacons will allow them to sell more goods and services by targeting interested users, but they also realize overdoing it could potentially turn customers off of iBeacon-based marketing entirely…

…Cellular service providers have made significant improvements to Michigan Stadium this off-season in an attempt to catch up with an ever-growing demand, writes MLive. The International Champions Cup soccer match on Saturday, Aug. 2, was the University of Michigan’s first test of its updated cellular capacity. Providers reported an increase in cellular traffic six-times the capacity of football games last season. Verizon and AT&T each had the cellular capacity equivalent of two towers last football season. As of Saturday, both had the capacity of four towers and plan to further expand to seven inside the stadium this season…
