MLB.com At Bat Tops App Store Rankings For Sixth Straight Year

MLB.com At Bat, for the sixth consecutive year, was the top grossing sports application as highlighted by Apple today in its annual Best of the Year rankings for the App Store. In the overall App Store rankings, At Bat finished the year as the only sports media or professional sports league app among the 50 top grossing applications for iPhone, ranking 30th.

mlbcomAt Bat and Pandora’s music service app were the only two apps outside of games (44 titles) and social networking (4 titles) to place in the top grossing rankings.

Daily usage of At Bat continued to increase in 2014 as At Bat and its premium features, including live radio broadcasts and the MLB.TV Game of the Day, were accessed a record-setting 5.5 million times per day, on average, over the course of the entire MLB season.

In addition, 120 Sports, a first-of-its-kind broadcast streaming network and partnership joining multiple sports properties, was named by Apple in the App Store Best of 2014 for both iPhone and iPad. The 120 Sports app was developed through a new technology platform built by MLBAM.

WatchESPN (iPad free, 47th) was the only other sports app to make any of the six different year-end App Store rankings.
