Daktronics Bringing Elevated Experience To Joliet Slammers Baseball

Daktronics has been asked to design, manufacture and install a new LED video display for Silver Cross Field, in Joliet, Illinois, home to baseball’s Joliet Slammers. Installation is slated for late April.

“It’s an understatement to say we are elated to have Daktronics featuring its product at Silver Cross Field. The new board will provide a new entertainment experience never seen before by our fans. We look forward to not only entertaining our Slammers fans, but also the thousands of other fans which enter our stadium every year for other events.” says Josh Schaub, CEO of the Slammers.

The new display will measure more than 25 feet high by 35.5 feet wide and will feature a 15HD pixel layout for excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility. It features variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or to be zoned into multiple windows to show a variety of content including live video, instant replays, game scoring and statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

“We’re proud to be selected by the City of Joliet to provide this technology upgrade to Silver Cross Field,” says Joey Hulsebus, Daktronics Sales Representative. “Daktronics has provided for a large number of baseball teams at all competition levels, so we know this display will provide the intended impact for the Slammers and their overall game-day atmosphere at every event. We’re excited to see the display in action in the coming weeks.”

In addition to the equipment installation, the Joliet Slammers will feature digital content to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services. This content will consist of any mixture of sponsorship messages, crowd prompts, headshots, game opens, and venue announcements at the request of the team.

Marine Corp Air and Ground to Bring Excitement with New Daktronics Video Display

The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center received a new LED video display designed and manufactured by Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota. The new video and scoring display system for football was installed at the Marine Corp Air and Ground facility in Twentynine Palms, California, early in 2015.

“The Marines and families love the new addition we have brought to Felix Field with the help of Daktronics,” says U.S. Marine Corps Athletic Director Danielle McKeever. “The capabilities are endless, our Marines train for weeks and months at a time and then ultimately deploy for 6-18 months or more at a time without seeing their families. The unit family days, football and soccer games, and other functions now at Felix with amazing audio and video will leave a lasting memory, especially for those who will be gone for so long. That’s what this board was installed for, to better help serve those who have served us with dedication and sacrifice, and provide them with a better quality of life while aboard the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center.”

The main video display measures approximately 13 feet high by 24 feet wide and features a 15HD pixel layout. This display features variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image across the entire display to highlight live video and instant replays. It can also be separated into multiple zones to show any combination of scoring information, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsor advertisements.

This display provides excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility while also incorporating industry-leading environmental protection.

“Daktronics is excited to have partnered with Marine Corp Air and Ground for this project,” said Eric Cain, Daktronics Sales Representative. “This new display and scoring system provides every person attending an event at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center a unique and memorable experience, and as a United States-based manufacturing company we are proud to be a part of that.”
