InfoComm 2015: Haivision To Demo New-and-Improved Makito X Video Encoder

At InfoComm 2015, Haivision (booth #4747) will showcase important updates to the Makito X video encoder, including new recording and storage options to simultaneously stream and capture hours of HD video.

makito_x_with_storageThe Makito X encoder transports high-quality live video at the low bitrates over any network. The Makito X now optionally includes 250 GB of internal or removable storage. The Makito X with storage can stream and record 2 sources simultaneously, generate four different encoded streams of bitrates from 35 Kbps to 25 Mbps, with a storage capacity to handle about five days of five Mbps video. Coupled with Haivision’s SRT technology, users can now have the confidence to deliver the best quality video over public networks while capturing the highest bitrate content locally.

The latest features in the Makito X encoder enable companies to capture pristine video content directly to the video encoder and safeguard content regardless of network conditions. In addition, users can manage and publish recorded video content to internal and Internet audiences with auto export to NAS and FTP servers for use within Haivision media systems including Calypso and the Haivision Video Cloud. Companies will also maximize the quality of video within selective portions of the video frame with a new region of interest encoding capability.  MP4 recorded files can also be played back directly within the Makito X user interface.

“The Makito X is the world’s leading high definition video encoder on the market today and the only compact high performance encoder to come with storage options,” says Peter Maag, chief marketing officer at Haivision. “With combined high quality, price performance and now storage, we’re helping organizations get more value from their content.”

With Makito X with storage, users can record up to two streams simultaneously in TS or MP4 file formats and automatically create files based on time or size. Users can maintain KLV metadata from the video source and record that metadata directly onto the Makito X encoder for FMV applications. The storage options are now available on all Makito X blades and appliances.

At Infocomm 2015, Haivision will showcase the latest video streaming and media management solutions for enterprise environments with hourly tech giveaways, live how-to AV tech sessions, and live streaming from the expo floor.
