InfoComm 2015: PESA Intros Vidblox HTR Converter/Extender, Partners With VIQ Solutions on A.C.E.S.

PESA, a designer and manufacturer of streaming solutions as well as professional audio and video distribution products, will introduce its Vidblox HTR converter/extender units at InfoComm 2015 (Booth 1515), which runs June 17-19 in Orlando, Fla. In addition, PESA has partnered with VIQ Solutions, a leading expert on digital media evidence collection and management, to offer PESA A.C.E.S., a rich media enabled capture and management solution that provides operational profiles specific to many vertical markets.

Vidblox HTR Converter/Extender
The latest addition to the Vidblox product line, the compact Vidblox HTR incorporates HDMI technology, supports a wide variety of resolutions, and can be easily configured by the user as a transmitter (TX) or receiver (RX).

unnamed(9)Controlled through PESA’s Cattrax management control software, Vidblox HTR is backward compatible with Cheetah 3G-SDI (2.97 Gbps), HD-SDI (1.485 Gbps), and SD-SDI (270 Mbps) routers. Beyond HDMI, it supports SD and HD formats including 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. Vidblox HTR can also embed/de‑embed audio from an HDMI signal, and users can select between the embedded audio or discrete audio.

Each Vidblox HTR module supports up to four identical inputs or outputs. Two coax ports that extend signals up to 140m (153 yards) are standard, and two optional single-mode fiber ports (via a dual SFP cage) extend signals up to 10km (6.2 miles). DVI is supported with an HDMI-to-DVI adapter. Outputs include 720p, 1080i, or 1080p at 50/59.94/60fps, or 4K at 30fps.

“The Vidblox product line delivers easy conversion and scaling solutions for integrators,” explains John T. Wright, senior vice president of sales and business development. “Our new Vidblox HTR is an affordable way to add long distance HDMI connectivity to existing installs, and it’s an excellent way to overcome signal loss for wall processors and other monitoring applications.”

Vidblox HTR will be available in Q3 2015 with pricing comparable to PESA’s current Vidblox line.

PESA, VIQ Solutions Partner on PESA A.C.E.S. Multi-Channel AV System
PESA will demonstrate the new PESA A.C.E.S system at InfoComm 2015. Short for Acquire, Collaborate, Explain, and Secure, PESA A.C.E.S. is configured as a two or five-channel video system, with the flexibility to add additional channels and seats licenses. Available now, it combines the PESA Xstream C58 or C22 multi-channel streaming media appliance with VIQ Encompass and AccessPOINT software for sophisticated file capture and management. The result is a comprehensive recording and playback system that simplifies collaboration.

unnamed(10)The PESA A.C.E.S. solution architecture includes a regional server fed by fixed and/or mobile recording stations that automatically sync files. Systems can also include a fixed or cloud-based optional central repository. Remote collaboration is enabled via the AccessPOINT Portal, which provides secure, browser-based access to files for authorized parties. Along with on-site commissioning and installation, PESA A.C.E.S. can also include customized user interfaces, online training, and transcription services.

Housed in a compact, 1 RU form factor, the C58 simultaneously encodes up to five independent video sources and eight audio sources for H.264 IP distribution with no sync or latency issues. The C22 supports two video and two audio streams. VIQ’s software offers advanced database technology to simplify logging, searching, annotations, and chain of evidence, and allows integration with third-party case management systems.

“PESA A.C.E.S. has incredible potential to simplify evidence collection for police, but it’s also a great solution for financial, medical, judicial, training, transportation, and command and control markets,” notes John Naylor, PESA VP of global sales and distribution, streaming products. “As part of a multi-year partnership with VIQ, PESA has developed its Xstream appliances to work with VIQ’s large-scale digital media capture and management solution. PESA A.C.E.S. represents a maturing of this initiative that is scaled to meet the needs of small and mid-sized operations, as well as being based on stable, reliable, field-tested software.”
