The announcement was made by Jamie Horowitz, President, FOX Sports National Networks, to whom Dixon reports. Dixon’s position is based in Los Angeles, and the appointment is effective August 3.

“Charlie brings us strong leadership, a keen knowledge of content, and a clever understanding of what programming resonates with sports fans on all screens,” said Horowitz.  “He is a great fit for the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit that I have found since coming to FOX Sports, and I can’t wait for him to begin working with the talented and creative people we already have in place.”

Reporting to Dixon are Melissa Forman, Senior Vice President, Development; Rick Jaffe, Senior Vice President, News; and Bill Dallman, Vice President, News Director; and Michael Hughes, Executive Producer, FOX SPORTS LIVE.

Dixon joins FOX Sports from NBC, where he was most recently Senior Vice President of Development, working with MSNBC and NBC News.  Prior to NBC News, Dixon and Horowitz worked together at ESPN, where they co-developed Olbermann, Numbers Never Lie, Colin Cowherd’s New Football Show and the reimagining of First Take.  Before that, Dixon ran the digital media department at IMG where he launched the first-ever made-for-mobile sports network and co-created the American Express Fashion Network for New York Fashion Week.
