DNA Studios’ Fully Loaded HD Expando Serves Texas Market

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome DNA Studios as a mobile/integrator sponsor. Based in Humble, TX, DNA Studios provides HD mobile facilities and studio and packager services. Formerly Digital Network Associates, the company recently expanded to studio and live television programming.

DNA supplies a 53-ft. HD expando, known as HDX1, for many network clients, including ESPN. Acquired last November, the new truck is fully loaded for sports and entertainment shows, boasting a Grass Valley Kalypso switcher, six-channel EVS replay server with XFile, ChyronHego Duet, and Yamaha digital audio console, Sony HD cameras, and Canon lenses.

With 25 years in broadcasting, owner Sam Schrade brings experience and reliability to his clients. “We are excited to have an HD truck in the South. We are the only company in the fourth-largest city in the United States that offers everything that we do.”

Jim Feldman, who produces MLS and college games, enjoys working with DNA. “I have worked many remote sports productions with Sam, covering more than 10 years. During that time, he has always been very professional, competent, easy to work with, and, most important of all, cool under fire. There can problems of many different kinds during a live sports broadcast, and Sam is always under control and able to assist in working through any issue that may arise.”

DNA also rents out a 40-ft. straight SD truck for budget-conscious clients, as well as two additional HD trailer units for smaller/corporate clients. In addition, the company has a three-camera HD flypack that recently returned from broadcasting the American Basketball Association’s Game of the Week on ESPN3.com.

DNA’s completion of a 3,000-sq.-ft. HD studio will house a live weekly sports show that will be shown on a regional cable network. The studio includes HD cameras, switcher, replay, graphics, audio, studio lighting, three sets, and a 25-ft.-tall green screen. The studio is available for news hits and interviews.

“DNA is pleased to be an SVG sponsor,” says Schrade. “We know so many people in the industry, and it is a great way to strengthen those relationships. We look forward to learning, improving, and innovating together.”
