Sports Video Group Launches Redesigned Website Upon 10th Anniversary

As the Sports Video Group celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new and improved website at sportsvideo.org. The aim of the new site is to provide SVG members and sponsors with a more user-friendly platform that focuses on their everyday needs and keeps up with the rapidly evolving sports-video-production industry.

“The most recent version of the SVG Web site served our members well for more than seven years and after dedicating our efforts to launching a mobile app that makes it easier than ever for industry professionals to keep up with the industry news we turned our attention to finalizing a redesign of our main Web site,” says Ken Kerschbaumer, SVG, Co-Executive Director, Editorial Services. “Most importantly we wanted a site that clearly laid out what we were about: not only industry news but also resources and events designed to enhance our member’s careers and our sponsor’s business opportunities.”

Here’s a quick guide to some of the highlights:

The new sportsvideo.org features improved navigation and functionality, as well as a revamped Home Page that allows users to easily access all aspects of SVG – News, Events, Initiatives, Resources, On Demand (audio and video content), and Membership services – from one central location. The new layout is compatible with all major browsers and mobile devices.

A Better SVG News Section
While SVG is much more than just a news organization, we understand that the majority of visitors to sportsvideo.org come looking for the latest industry news and information – and we have designed our new SVG News page (sportsvideo.org/news) accordingly. In addition to the Latest News section, the redesigned site features dedicated News pages for Production, Technology, Business, College, Venue, and Digital – making it easier than ever for those interested in a particular market segment or section to bookmark and instantly find relevant content to their business and career.

A Cleaner Events Page
At the core of SVG are the conferences and events that we hold throughout the year. The new SVG Events page (sportsvideo.org/events) makes it easier than ever to register and find information about upcoming SVG events.

SVG On Demand
New to the revamped website is the SVG On Demand page (sportsvideo.org/on-demand), which features the latest videos (from SVG events, behind-the-scenes interviews, and more), SVG Podcasts (including the popular SVG College Podcast), SVG Event Photo Galleries, and SVG On the Scene photos from major sporting events around the world.

Dedicated Initiatives and Resources Pages
Finally, the new SVG Initiatives page (sportsvideo.org/initiatives) provides access to all of SVG’s industry initiatives: Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame, Sports Broadcasting Fund, College Initiative, DTV Audio Group, Sports Production Safety Group (SPSG), Venue Initiative, Veterans in Production (VIP), and Women’s Sports Media Initiative (WSMI).

Make sure to check out the new Sponsors (sportsvideo.org/sponsors) and Resources (sportsvideo.org/resources) pages, which feature a wealth of information regarding SVG Sponsors and industry tools like the Job Board, Runners Network, EVS and Grass Valley K2 Dyno Replay Operators Directories, SVG Publications Archive, and more.

We hope that the redesigned sportsvideo.org better serves you – our members and sponsors – and, to that end, please do not hesitate to contact us with any suggestions or issues you may have with the new site. We look forward to continuing our mission to advance the creation, production, and distribution of sports content for many years to come.
