Inventor develops new way to watch (and listen to) TV [video]

KY3.com reports that Brandon Goodwin is trying to change the way the world watches TV, all from downtown Springfield. He developed Blipcast, a device and app that streams audio from your TV to your phone.

Brandon says the product is great for businesses with more than one TV, parents with small kids and the hearing impaired.

“They can listen to the television at full volume, but it doesn’t have to blast it to everybody else in the house,” he said.

He got the idea for Blipcast by doing something that’s common in the Ozarks: watching a Cardinals game.

“My wife and I were watching the Cardinals playoff game and she went to bed and I wanted to stay up and watch the game,” he said. “I realized O had to turn the volume down so low as to not wake her up that I couldn’t hear the game, so I started looking for a solution to that.”

Since then, Brandon has developed a working prototype and has taken his idea across the nation, but the Springfield native says there’s a lot of pride that comes with building a product in your hometown.
