Daktronics Swings Into Baseball Season with Multiple MLB Installations

While spring training is taking place across the baseball landscape, Daktronics is finalizing multiple installations for professional level teams and venues. These installations include new super systems for the Cleveland Indians and St. Louis Cardinals as well as many other displays for the Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres and Texas Rangers for a grand total of 41,000 square feet.

The new display for the Cleveland Indians measures 60 feet high by 221 feet wide and features more than 13,000 square feet of video capable display space. The St. Louis Cardinals new main video display measures 40 feet high by 120 feet wide. Both of these displays feature 13HD LED pixel layouts designed for excellent image clarity and contrast even in the brightest conditions and at the widest viewing angles in the industry.

“The new boards will significantly enhance our fans’ experience at Progressive Field,” said Neil Weiss, the Indians senior vice president of technology and chief information officer. “This project increases our ability to deliver a world-class, in-game experience, delivering stats, highlights and player profiles in large, high-definition formats.”

In the minors, eight teams are receiving a grand total of 8,500 square feet of video displays to create an exciting game-day atmosphere that fans will flock to again and again. As venues across the sports industry are continually improving their in-stadium experience, video displays are relied on to inform and entertain audiences in a way that can only be experienced by going to the ballpark.

“Daktronics is proud to provide our professional league customers with LED video products that help create an entertainment destination for fans as they head to the baseball diamond to watch their favorite teams play this year,” said Jay Parker, vice president of Daktronics live events group. “We would like to thank all of our baseball customers for putting their trust in our company and we wish them the best of luck this season.”

Daktronics Creative Services is producing digital and video content for eight teams in the majors including the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers. Also, 12 teams in the minors will be receiving content in some capacity for the 2016 season.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
