EVS Releases Winners of C-Cast APPlied Challenge
EVS announced the winners of its second annual C-Cast APPlied Challenge. Four winners were named, each recognized for developing a new media experience that uses EVS’ C-Cast multimedia distribution platform to change the way fans experience and consume live content.
“Broadcasters, content owners, sports leagues, and federations — everyone is racing to up their game and generate revenues by creating and offering compelling new media experiences,” said Cedric Tombeur, VP of corporate development and strategic alliances for EVS. “Enabling great apps that surprise and delight viewers is a huge part of our vision at EVS, and we’re very pleased to recognize these four outstanding app developers for their achievements.”
EVS launched the C-Cast APPlied Challenge in support of its community of C-Cast technology developers and designers. C-Cast is a turnkey Software-as-a-Service platform that enables content owners to maximize the value of their media by connecting live content with production teams, brand owners and final viewers. Its cloud-hosted tools can scale to the global delivery needs of the world’s multinational sports events, or a small single-venue concert. This year’s winners will showcase their final projects at a dedicated area on the EVS booth (SL3816) at the 2016 NAB Show.

Atos – Delivers a 360-degree picture of the game for a greater immersive experience
SMART (Sports Media Application in Real Time) is the innovative Atos’ player which allows rights-holding broadcasters and their audiences to interact and enjoy sports coverage in a more immersive and collaborative way. SMART synchronizes video with data and multi-audio to offer a personalized viewing and sharing experience from the comfort of the fans’ homes as well as inside the stadium. EVS’ C-Cast platform enables exclusive video clips from key moments to be added to the output on selected sports, while giving users the ability to touch on multiple angles for viewing different perspectives of the games. Cisco – Enhanced digital fan experiences. New business opportunities
The Cisco Enterprise Mobility Services Platform (EMSP) for sports and entertainment helps properties quickly create, deploy, and manage context-aware mobile experiences with or without a team or venue application. The cloud-based platform allows fans to easily connect to a venue’s Wi-Fi network and enjoy relevant captive portal services, including rich game-day content. The C-Cast EMSP module uses C-Cast to make multi-camera replay features available as a drag-and-drop widget within EMSP. By combining the compelling content made available by C-Cast with the flexible EMSP platform, the fan experience is greatly enhanced and properties can drive to deeper levels of fan engagement and insight. FanThreeSixty offers a comprehensive solution for sports properties to understand and influence their fans through data capture and content distribution.
