NAB 2016: PESA, VIQ Solutions Debut Collaborative Content Management System

PESA (SL4621), in partnership with VIQ, will unveil the PESA ACES | Collaborative Content Manager (CCM) at NAB. An affordable, multi-channel capture and playback system for synchronized live event recording and playback, the joint PESA / VIQ solution simplifies collaboration when working with recordings by leveraging secure, browser-based access and indexed multimedia annotations.

unnamed (2)Built around the PESA XSTREAM C58 or C22 multi-channel streaming media appliance and the VIQ Satellite software for sophisticated file capture and management, the CCM is a comprehensive two or five-channel video and audio content management system that provides secure access to files synchronized across multiple network tiers. When working remotely, CCM users can access and index footage, as well as share comments through a customizable interface, which improves efficiency by allowing easy access to preferred tools and terminology.

CCM simultaneously supports multiple compressed and uncompressed formatsat resolutions up to 1080p/60 without sync or latency issues. Sources can be monitored in real time using the local HDMI or optional BNC outputs and streamed simultaneously through the Gig-E interface. Files are protected by industry-leading security protocols and encryption that are compliant with privacy and usability standards such as HIPAA and Section 508.

The flexible CCM architecture offers an optional regional server fed by fixed and/or mobile recording stations that automatically synchronize files. Systems can also include a fixed or cloud-based optional central repository. Along with on-site commissioning and installation, PESA CCM can also include customized user interfaces, online training, and transcription services.

Housed in a compact, 1 RU appliance, the C58 encodes up to five independent video and eight audio sources for H.264 distribution. The C22 supports two video and two audio streams. VIQ’s software offers advanced database technology to simplify logging, searching, and annotations, and allows integration with third-party case management systems (for law enforcement applications). The searchable database includes detailed, administrator-level audit logs that track all system activities for data integrity and authenticity.

“This complete package delivers an affordable way to capture and deliver digital content securely, with the veracity to withstand scrutiny,” said Malcolm Macallum, COO/CTO for VIQ Solutions. “Being able to provide detailed data analytics of that digital content only increases its value to the customer.”

“For a number of vertical markets, the new CCMrepresents a reliable option for recording multiple video feeds simultaneously, then playing, sharing, and storing that footage,” said John T. Wright, senior vice president of sales and business development. “It’s an affordable live event recording option for media outlets, as well as an ideal video collaborative tool for e-learning platforms, command and control environments, research and development, test and evaluation, and law enforcement and justice applications.”

The PESA ACES | CCMis available today with pricing starting at $7,000 for the base model.
