The Dallas Mavericks have introduced three new digital platforms to distribute content to fans around the globe. The team has launched its own Roku channel while also becoming the first NBA franchise to utilize the live streaming app Live.ly and the music video community app Musical.ly.

“We want our fans to have access to Mavs content wherever they are, and within any platform they’re using,” says Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. “Adding Roku to our repertoire adds another piece to the fan experience puzzle.”

As for Live.ly and Musical.ly, both apps, will showcase Mavericks players’ behind-the-scenes and show off their personalities. The team regularly uses Live.ly to live stream practices and pre-game warm-ups with streams garnering anywhere between 15,000-20,000 views on an average stream.

According to the team, the Musical.ly platform is already off to a strong start with over 103,000 fans registered to receive Mavericks’ alerts.
