Aspera Transfer Service for AWS Launches at AWS re:Invent 2016

This week’s AWS re:Invent 2016 marks the launch of Aspera Transfer Service for AWS – a multi-tenant, high speed SaaS platform for moving large files and data sets in, out, and between AWS storage regions. Powered by the Aspera FASP high-speed transfer protocol, the platform allows users to move data of any size over any distance at line speed to and from S3.

Aspera_IBM_draftsThe unique Direct-to-Cloud capability integrates with S3 to enable fast file uploads and downloads with predictable transfer times, while adding security and transfer management features such as encryption over the wire and at rest, dynamic bandwidth control, pause and resume, and real-time and historical reporting. Users can transfer data to S3 in single sessions at ~3 Gigabits/second from any distance, and in multi-session transfers at over 20 Gigabits per second. Built on Aspera auto-scaling technology, the platform offers extreme scale out, high availability and load balancing.

The SaaS is available from Aspera and can also be purchased in the AWS Marketplace. With our flexible Pay-as-you-go tiered pricing, users can transfer as much or as little as needed and only pay for what they use, or purchase a committed volume for even better rates. Customers can sign up and use the platform immediately to transfer with S3 via the Aspera Files SaaS and all major Aspera server and client products. Faspex and Shares web applications can use the platform as a hosted transfer service and 3rd party applications can integrate with the platform APIs to bring high speed, secure transfer into other cloud services.

Aspera is demonstrating the new Transfer Service at Booth #2429 at AWS re:Invent.

Also, on Wednesday, November 30, at 1:55 in Expo Hall, Jay Migliaccio, Director of Cloud Platforms and Services at Aspera and Michelle Munson, Aspera CEO, will present, “Move huge data in S3: TB+ scale workloads in hours – not days” in the Partner Theater highlighting how Synacor is using the new Transfer Service to provide end-to-end video based media services.
