University of Oklahoma Launches SoonerSports.tv Apps for Apple TV, Roku

University of Oklahoma Athletics has made SoonerSports.tv content available for in-home viewing via Apple TV and Roku devices. Oklahoma is the only ‘Power Five’ athletics department in the country to offer live and on-demand content via both Apple TV and Roku.

“At Oklahoma, we take pride in being a trendsetter, and the launch of our Apple TV and Roku apps is another example of just that,” says OU Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione. “We are excited about the opportunity to distribute our extraordinary video content to new and broader audiences through these platforms, and we are grateful to our partners FOX Sports and NeuLion for helping us once again be a leader with this endeavor.”

Fans are now able to access all SoonerSports.tv live and on-demand content in-home thanks to adaptive and high-definition delivery. An active SoonerSports.tv subscription is required.

The SoonerSports.tv Apple TV app is available on Generation 4 devices. Search “Sooners” in the app store to download the app. In order to consume SoonerSports.tv content on previous generation Apple TV devices, fans may use AirPlay to stream.

Fans are encouraged to purchase their subscription to the SoonerSports.tv on their desktop, mobile device or tablet before enjoying the events and content on Apple TV or Roku.

Castiglione said that OU is working with FOX Sports and NeuLion to explore additional distribution platforms, as well.
