SNY Locks Down In-Market Streaming Agreement for Mets Games

The streams will be available to authenticated subscribers anywhere in the U.S.

SNY announced on Wednesday that the network will begin live-streaming Mets baseball during the 2017 MLB regular season. The service, available to authenticated SNY subscribers, will deliver baseball’s most-watched local broadcast and award-winning pre/postgame programs streamed at SNY.tv and on the NBC Sports app.

“As we prepare for another season of Mets baseball, it was very important to us at SNY that we have a streaming component ready for our fans in time for Opening Day,” said SNY President Steve Raab. “With this service now in place, we are excited to expand SNY’s scope and to deliver exclusive Mets coverage to our dedicated fans both at home and on the go.”

Last month, NBC Sports Regional Networks announced an in-market streaming MLB deal that included members of its Comcast SportsNet family. Even though SNY is partially owned by NBC Sports, that deal did not include the regional sports network, which is majority-owned by the New York Mets, allowing it to remain independent of such deals.

SNY’s TV Everywhere streaming service is done in collaboration with the NBC Sports Group and is supported on PC at SNY.tv and via the NBC Sports app. The NBC Sports app is available on Apple iOS, Android, and selected Samsung devices, as well as on Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Win10, and Xbox. Authenticated SNY subscribers can access live Mets broadcasts, even when outside of their region, provided they are within the U.S.
