America East Partners With New Digital Network Platform Provider, Stretch Internet

The America East Conference announced a partnership with Stretch Internet to become the conference’s new digital network platform provider starting in July. The agreement commences with the 2017-18 academic year and will run through 2020-21.

“We are excited to partner with Stretch Internet on the next iteration of our digital network, taking AmericaEast.TV to the next level,” says America East Commissioner, Amy Huchthausen. “Our member institutions produce hundreds of high-quality live events each year and Stretch’s dynamic platform will provide fans with a comprehensive viewing experience that will serve as the perfect complement to ‘The AE on ESPN3’. With Stretch’s enhancements to AmericaEast.TV, these two channels will ensure America East stays at the forefront of live video production for years to come.”

Stretch Internet will provide a first-class viewing experience to America East fans with 1080p HD streaming across all computers, phones, tables and major OTT platforms, including Roku and Apple TV. Additionally, the Stretch Internet platform will provide enhanced features such as instant highlights, live statistical integration and the ability to watch multiple America East events simultaneously. As it has always been, AmericaEast.TV will remain free to users.

“Today is a big day for Stretch Internet,” says Stretch Internet President and CEO, Ryan Ermeling. “For several years now, we’ve had our sights on the America East Conference. Their demographic, their goals and their needs are a perfect match for Stretch, and we’re excited to deliver phenomenal experiences to their schools, fans, parents, alumni and other constituents. I don’t think it’s any secret that the America East has become a technology trailblazer under Amy and her team, and we’re excited to help advance their vision.”

AmericaEast.TV has been the home of over 2,500 live events produced by the conference’s member institutions and the league’s streaming partners since launching in 2013. ‘The AE on ESPN3’ launched in November as the home for America East basketball and will feature more than 3,000 games over the next decade.
