Daktronics Updated LED Display Welcomed At RFK Stadium

Daktronics has partnered with Events DC to update their outdoor LED video display at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium (RFK Stadium), home to Major League Soccer’s D.C. United, in Washington, DC. Installed late in 2016, the display is currently installed and ready to entertain audiences for any number of events held at the venue.
“It’s been a pleasure working with Daktronics on the installation of the new video board and we are proud to be a continued partner,” says Candace G. Johnson, director of event operations of sports, entertainment, and special events at Events DC. “We have a long-standing relationship with Daktronics, more than 15 years, so when it was time to replace our video board, it only made sense to look to them. We look forward to continuing our great relationship.”

The video display stretches 23 feet high by 32 feet wide and features a 15HD pixel pitch for excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the stadium. Keeping with industry expectations, this display features is variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or different content in multiple zones such as live video, instant replays, scoring information, statistics, graphics and sponsor messaging.

“We’re excited to partner with RFK Stadium on this project and it is great to be part of such a historical venue,” says Charley Bocklet, Daktronics regional sales manager. “This new LED system will bring another level of excitement to fans and improve the experience of the games firsthand.”

In addition to the display, a Daktronics Control System was included in the installation at RFK Stadium. This industry-leading system offers user-friendly display control software, world-renowned video processing, data integration and playback hardware.
