Fox Sports, LiveLike To Offer UEFA Champions League in VR

Multiple camera angles, pregame VOD features will be available via Fox Sports VR app

When Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid takes on Juventus in this weekend’s UEFA Champions League Final, fans of the two soccer powerhouses will be able to see the match from every angle in virtual reality. Fox Sports, continuing its effort to deliver major sports events in VR, teamed up with LiveLike to cover the UEFA Champions League Final at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

Fox Sports, along with LiveLike, will offer the title match from multiple camera angles, along with pregame VOD features through the Fox Sports VR app. Fans can enjoy the interactive, 360-degree viewing experience by downloading and installing the app on a mobile device and signing in with their television-provider credentials. The experience is designed specifically for mobile devices and can be viewed on a Gear VR or cardboard headset; no special VR equipment is required.

The UEFA Champions League Final is the latest in a long line of VR offerings from Fox Sports. Over the past year, the network has provided a VR experience to accompany more than a dozen major events, including Super Bowl LI, the 2016 and 2017 Big East Men’s Basketball Tournaments, the 2016 U.S. Open Championship, the 2016 MLS Cup, the 2016 Bundesliga season opener, the 2016 Big Ten Football Championship, and a PBC heavyweight title fight.
